Hello, Friends. Welcome back to week 4 of my diary... I mean, the quarantine diaries... Are you ready for another week of extravagant fun, memories, and tears? Let's do it.
Last week brought forth the news that the quarantine would be lifted in Colorado. This makes my heart smile cause it means I can give hugs again... That's right... I'm a hugger... Little know fact about me.
Anyway, enough of the sappy sentimental nonsense. We did some seriously fun things last week, and you wont want to miss it. Or maybe you do... makes no difference to me. Imma still have fun.
Also, Three Cheers to Mr. Connor Dolan for winning the Kabob night with me and Anna. Soon, my friend, we will celebrate with Kabobs. Thank you, Sir, for your kind participation in our weekly interweb dialogue.
See you in the commentary, folks

Welcome back, folks! This week held a little bit more freedom, a few more interactions with people.. like real ones... and a taste of summer with a slice of hope for some sense of joyful communion with other this summer - even if it is a little different than previous ones.
Life is good. Greg and I aren't sick of each other yet which is a pretty good sign considering its 101 days until we are in each other's space for the rest of our lives.... duh Duh DUHHHH.
Let's get to the goods. Thanks for tuning in!!!
G: Remember last week when it snowed 13 feet here in Colorado??? Well not this week. It was bright, sunny, warm, and lovely. So miss anna brought out the hammock for a little fun in the sun. I'm particularly proud of this last picture... I feel like an artist sometimes now when I get a hold of the Camera.
A: I am a hammock girlie. I feel my most childlike self all cocooned up and looking at nature chatting with the Big Man. However, this aint nothing on the hammock Greg bought to sleep in in his utter refusal to sleep in a bed. Again, the dude will not sleep in a bed. And this hammock girlie doesn't sleep well in hammocks, either. It would appear we are at an impasse, my dear reader.
G: Two Words: PESTO CHICK'N... This was my first ever experience with Chick pea noodles... Does anybody know what that means? I'm still not sure what the noodle was, but the creamy pesto and italian chicken was just oh so so tasty. Look at that yummy plate of goodness... I'm gonna go eat a second dinner now.
A: That was my plate of goodness... And chickpea noodles are a hip new trend. Get with it. High protein and all that. Mostly, they are perfect for glutards like me.
G: Puttin' the new color scheme to work! I got out and practiced some slow speed maneuvers this week. ITS RIDIN' SEASON. Also, the Harley Jacket belonged to my dad's cousin. I was blessed to be on the road with him when he took his last ever motorcycle trip 2 years ago. 84 years old and still covered nearly 1500 miles of Colorado highway on his bike. He passed in January of this year. He's Ridin' the streets of Heaven now!
A: This is Anna trying to shoot in a zone that is not really her thang. I am more laughing girl meets flowery meadow at golden hour... but I couldn't get Greg to concede to that version of a shoot. This is cool too!! Also that story is really neat. Some good Hecker men and some good Hecker tales.
G: E'rbody loves a good Cha Cha Slide, Right? We was pick'n out some songs to dance to on that day we're gonna get marriaged. Put on your dancin' shoes. It's gon' be a party!
A: Dancing Greg / Wedding Greg is a totally different kind of Greg... I don't think any of you are quite ready for it. Not to mention, our wedding will be on a totally other level of hype for him. Anyone know where one can purchase a portable shower? I know a guy who will need it on August 7th. Let me know. (In the comments dare I say)
G: Mom lit the kitchen on fire....
Dad made a really funny scene out of it, but it's hard to explain in person. You had to be there. For now, just enjoy these pictures of me re-enacting dad's commentary and wafting the smoke out of our home. Cheers to Fire!
A: Greg's dad: "Honey, something in there is having a hard time... you might wanna go check on it." Checks on it to find a house full of smoke. Full. However, the charred peppers were actually really yummy. Sorry I ruined your vague description and let everyone in on the inside joke, Greg.
G: It's ok... reading it again made me chuckle... Worth it. I laughed a lot that night!
G: This is a cute little drive through coffee shop on the outskirts of loveland. Sometimes its open. Sometimes its not. But when it is, oh good golly you're in for a treat. Stop in sometime and pick up a tasty espresso treat. Tell them giggy sent you. They might give you a discount.
A: I don't think that Sandy from Jamoca Joes (I made that name up... sorry Jamoca Joe's lady I don't know your real name :/) knows who giggy is. It probably won't get you anything more than a slightly uncomfy experience at this drive-through with a drink that is of equal price (and still of great taste). Up to you, though. Could be fun I guess.
G: JOE!!!!!!!!!! Joe came and visited for a day. We went for a hike. Joe rode in the back seat of the car and the wind was blowing his hair around so majestically. Anna had to capture the moment. We took a stroll around bobcat ridge. We didn't see any bobcats. But we did find an old cabin with a "birthing chair" in it. Probably more frightening than a bobcat. Thanks for the fun memories, joe!
A: Greg is missing the most important part of this whole thing. When he asked joe to marry him. Just kidding. When he asked Joe to be a groomsmen. These proposal pics are sweet. Kinda majestic in a terrible way. Congrats, Joe!
G: Probably the most epic photo I've ever been a part of... Cheers, Joe!
G: Joe's First Motorcycle ride. Took a small stroll around the foothills. Not hard to get addicted to these sweet machines. Future motorcycle Friend? Perhaps! What a fun afternoon this was. Also, I added some white wall tires to the bike. Really rounds out the retro feel. Also, this photo is proof that I do indeed wear a helmet when I ride. Safety first, friends. Live to ride another day!
A: Romantic bike ride post groomsman proposal... I see how this is gonna be.
G: No comment
G: We might have broken quarantine a day or so early. But, hey, it was rib night at the Dolan's house. We didn't have covids, they didn't have covids. But they had ribs and I had an appetite. Zero regrets!
A: HUMANS. REAL ONES. The ribs were another serious bonus. But we are not really a part of the meat group text that is circulating amongst men everywhere, nor the meat-cooking competitions, nor the "dream about smoking meat in our sleep" kind.
Emma and I just mostly do the veggies and chat about our feelings and stuff. It's better that way.
G: Look at it... Just look at it... MMMMMM.... When are we doing Rib Night again? I'll take another rib please.
A: Emma said, "How many ribs does the average man eat?" Connor said "6." Emma said, "Great, so Greg will eat about 10." She was spot on. Also apparently that is her thing. Ask her to guess a number of something and she will nail it every time. Could be a fun game to start. Also, look at the Greg. He is so happy.
G: Happy giggy :P
G: Fire... Makin' a covid diary comeback. This was the perfect way to wind down couples night. A few smores by the flames. Big Cheers to the Dolan's for hosting us. We are blessed with great friends!
A: Fire, smores, summer time. These are the good days and the glimmers of hope and goodness. Find those glimmers and good things this week. We are working on it over here too. You probably just won't broadcast a blog about yours because you're a normal human being with a regular sized ego... I kid. Kinda :p (stole your thing, Gerg)
Gergy: yup... i have an ego.. its a weakness. Please be my friend.
Wulp... That's all folks. Thanks for tuning into another episode of the covid diaries on 950AM radio... I mean... thanks for reading our blog 'n stuff.
As we enter into the post quarantine days, we reflect upon the good times we had while "social distancing" (whatever the flip that means) and we realize that we are inherently creative beings with a desire for meaningful relationship. To love and to be loved. We pray that as we regain some semblance of normalcy, that you forget not the effort you put in during these days of isolation to further cultivate and strengthen your friendships, Whether with friends, spouses (soon to be spouses) or other loved ones, keep striving for endless pursuit of each other and settle not for anything "normal". You're too cool for "normal". Be extraordinary in small ways. Imma go eat the soapbox now. Cheers Friends.

I echo lots of what that old guy said.
I will say this, in friendship with others we see a reflection of the friendship God wants with us. And it is my current prayer and my current struggle to see him as "friend". The kind of friend you go on coffee walks with and tell about your crummy day and tell him your greatest fears. It's a hard thing to comprehend, a love like that with God. But I hope your lack of normal means you break open the parts of your heart that don't trust Him as friend. And then bring that wrestling to your friends down here and learn to love Him and be loved by Him together.
Okayyyyyy bye now. We luv you weirdos.
